Social Work Information Page
Social work is a practice-based profession and an academic discipline that promotes social change & development, social cohesion, and the empowerment and liberation of people. Social workers are employed in a variety of settings, including mental health clinics, schools, child welfare and human service agencies, hospitals, settlement houses, community development corporations, and private practices.
The first step on your journey toward becoming a social worker is to learn more about the profession and your educational options. The videos and links on this page are designed to help you understand the profession of social work, what you can do with a social work degree, and how the UCCS Social Work programs can help you reach your academic and professional goals.
Thank you for taking the time to review the materials on our information page. If you have further questions, please reach out to us at socialwork@uccs.edu or telephone number 719-255-4256
