The Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (BACJ) program utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to capture both the academic liberal arts emphasis and the professional and policy knowledge required to educate criminal justice professionals.  This program can be completed online, on campus, or a combination of both. 

The Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (BACJ) online completion program is designed for those students who have already earned an Associates degree in Criminal Justice.  Students transferring in with an Associates degree in Criminal Justice have the ability to complete the Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice completely online.  Transfer students also have the option to complete the program on campus or mix online and on campus courses.

Social work is a practice-based profession and an academic discipline that promotes social change and development, social cohesion, and the empowerment and liberation of people.  Social workers help individuals, families, groups and communities enhance and restore their capacity for social functioning and create societal conditions favorable to that goal.  The Bachelor of Social Work will further the UCCS mission and broaden positive community impact.

Students who obtain a minor in Criminal Justice will be able to understand the social and behavioral contributors to crime and understand the major components of the criminal justice system.  The minor consists of 18 credit hours.  The minor in Criminal Justice can be completed online, on campus, or a combination of both.

The dual Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Psychology is designed to make it easier for students to complete these two majors from the School of Public Affairs and the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, respectively.  Please see the Advising Guide for more information.

The Accelerated Master's Program (AMP) in Criminal Justice is designed to allow students to work concurrently toward the Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (BACJ) and the Master of Criminal Justice (MCJ).  The Accelerated Master's Program can be completed online, on campus, or a combination of both. The Accelerated Bachelor of Arts in Political Science to MPA program provides graduates with a strong foundation to advance public service, work collaboratively to meet social challenges, and better understand key social phenomena using multiple lenses.
