Dual Bachelor's in Criminal Justice & Psychology

Criminal Justice Major Requirements
  • The Criminal Justice major requires a minimum of 25 credit hours of CJ course work, 3 hours of PAD course work, and a minimum of 18 credit hours of upper-division (3000+ level) CJ/PAD course work.
  • All CJ/PAD courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.

Psychology Major Requirements
  • The Psychology major requires a minimum of 37 credit hours of PSY course work, and a minimum of 18 credit hours of upper-division (3000+ level) PSY course work.
  • All but PSY electives must be completed with a grade of "C-" or better.
  1. PSY 1000 General Psychology
  2. PSY 1100 The Profession of Psychology
  3. PSY 2100 Introduction to Psychological Statistics
  4. PSY 2110 Introduction to Psychological Research and Measurement
  5. Complete four of the following Core Content Courses: PSY 3130, PSY 3140, PSY 3200, PSY 3270, PSY 3280, PSY 3400, PSY 3620. Only one Cognition & Learning course (PSY 3130, 3140 or 3200) may count toward this requirement.
  6. Complete one of the Advanced Seminars: PSY 4060, PSY 4110, PSY 4130, PSY 4240, PSY 4270, PSY 4280, PSY 4400, PSY 4430, PSY 4510, PSY 4620
  7. Complete PSY and CJ elective courses to meet total and upper-division credit hours. At least 6 hours must be PSY.
  8. Complete the Psychology Senior Accountability Exam.
Dual Degree Requirements
  • A minimum of 120 hours including the UCCS general education courses must be completed with a cumulative CU grade point average of 2.0; at least 45 of these hours must be at the upper-division level (courses numbered 3000-4999).
  • No more than 54 hours of PSY and no more than 54 hours of CJ course work can count towards the degree.
  • The last 30 hours of the degree must be completed while registered in the School of Public Affairs and the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at UCCS.
  • Courses numbered below 1000 do not count towards degree completion.
